Every picture tells a story.

What if Aotearoa’s most pivotal historic events could be conveyed with a single illustration? This was the question that this project intended to answer.

Tui Tirohanga follows a Tui through the history of Aotearoa, from the time before human life arrived on our shores to the events shaping our future today. The events range from the most well known, to lesser known and highlight some of the most influential Maori people and the struggles and triumphs they have faced since they settled on our shores, as well as some key Maori Myths and Legends.
